3 days Marrakech to Fes desert tour itinerary:
Day 1: Marrakech – Ait Benhaddou – Ouarzazate -Dades
3 days Marrakech to Fes desert tour departure: We will drive at 8 am from Marrakesh to Dades Valley. We drive via the High Atlas mountains Tizi n’Tichka pass – the high Atlas mountains. We will have time to enjoy impressive landscapes and Berber hamlets, also we will enjoy break for coffee or mint tea in nice area. In the afternoon we will get the chance to visit the Ait Benhaddou Kasbah (as it has been named by UNESCO). This Berber Kasbah which is very important place for international filmmakers (more than 20 films was shot here). It was also one of the most important fortress strongholds on the old Salt Road where caravans brought slaves, gold, ivory, salt. Then we’ll pass through city of Ouarzazate,which is called Hollywood of Africa. After Ouarzazate we will continue to Dades Valley , trough the megoun ,Skoura (berber villages around the valley) and we will spend the night in Dades Valley.
Day 2: Todra Gorge – Merzouga -Camel ride – Night in desert
After breakfast, we will leave Dades Valley and we go towards Todgha Gorges (one of the most beautiful and impressive canyons in Morocco). Here we spend lunch and then we head towards Merzouga through beautiful landscapes and along many oases of palm grooves. We pass Erfoud (the capital of fossils), which is very known with is fossil’s factories. Then we will drive to the Erg Chebbi sand sea. We will continue deeper into the desert, until dunes appear in the middle of nowhere . Once we arrive to our hotel/riad you will meet your camel guide and we will ride the camels into the desert bivouac (camping site with Berber tents). Here we stay under stars (shining brilliantly in the clear night sky). We will climb the dunes and watch the moon rise before going to sleep in a nomad tent.
Day 3: Merzouga – Ziz valley – Midelt – Fes
After an early wake up , we will watch desert sunrise ,then we ride the camels back to Merzouga village (where is our hotel/riad), and after we take shower and breakfast we will continue our tour to city of Fes. We will make some stops to enjoy tea with a nomadic family before we pass through the High Atlas mountains . We will also stop in a town Midelt where we’ll have lunch(town famous because of its minerals). This town is a very impressive mountain city at 1488 meters of altitude, well situated lower down the Jbel Ayachi (3737 m). In the afternoon we will continue to the city of Fes where we finish our trip.

Wonderful desert trip

Very exciting trip
This was my first time travelling to Morocco and the whole trip went very smoothly with the driver. As I was alone in the whole journey the driver helped me to take photos. At the same time, he also introduced me to the local speciality food, I like the local mint tea very much. He also introduced me to many local customs and tourist attractions in English.
Amazing experience
We had such an amazing time in Morroco. They managed everything, from the pick up at the ferry to our flight back. We spent 8 wonderful days, and everything was perfect. Schedule was changed accordingly to our needs and Omar is a great guy, always taken good care. I highly recommend him and this agency when traveling to Morroco.
